this character is a reflection of himself. he looks different but he is really looking at himself. i remember taking a personality test the year after i graduated high school, and i thought i knew myself pretty well. no i didn’t. it took me an hour to finish because i was really trying to answer those questions. my whole life i lived for someone else’s dream. i learned some things and got wisdom out of it, but not enough to override the unawareness of who i was. a young boy casted out alone into a pit of wolves having to fight his way through, to teach him how to be a man. that was the tactic of raising a child in my house. and everytime you bring up the past, most people in the situation never wanted to admit to their wrongs, so they make you feel like your side of the story is invalid. OR when your “teenage attitude is an inconvenience for them so they kick you out for someone else to deal with. OR use the excuse of “that’s how we were raised” so it gives them the green light to not show any respect for an 18 year old. well that left me with not having an identity and also feeling isolated and shamed for even feeling the way i did. i didn’t even know if “i liked to be early or arrive late in situations”. questions like that were asked in the test, and it was at that time where i realized i lived a life for someone else.
