your normal might be someone else’s weird. your normal can be someone else’s amazing. we don’t see ourselves from other peoples lens. my normal doesn’t look like your normal sometimes. the saying, ”comparison is the thief of all joy”, is true. if im to busy looking at someone else i can diminish and overlook the unique perspective i have. so the sentence “i never thought my art was worth anything”, is a skewed way of looking at it. what am i comparing it to? what makes me think that it’s not worth anything? it is not in my control on how well a song performs or how much people like my art, i just have to remind myself of that often.
