there is a story in the bible where a man named jonah was called to “straighten up” enemies in a town called nineveh. jonah refused to go because his feelings about them were bitter and also he felt outnumbered. he felt as if it was a bad idea so he runs away. which is interesting because most of us humans tend to do that. when we know we are called to do something and we run away and go the other direction. we think that we can get away with it. well that’s just not the case. anyways. jonah runs away, gets on a boat, and when he is sailing with other men, the weather gets super bad and a storm is breaking out. the boat is in danger. the sailors on board started asking him if he was right with God because chaos was upon them. jonah states that he had a direct commandant to go to the town nineveh, but he never did. the waves get bigger and bigger and the sailors decide to throw jonah overboard. what’s the moral of the story? to fulfill the calling you know God has for you and is asking of you. there will always be an option for free will but the fact of the matter is that we won't always feel qualified. we won’t always feel right for the job. we feel unqualified and diminish our “abilities”. we get in our heads about how we can’t succeed but that's not our job. our job is to execute what we’re called to do no matter how scary it might look and how it might ruffle some feathers, or go against the grain of traditional living. slay the monster that is keeping you away from fulfilling the destiny made for you.
